Fish Out of Water

We spent another fun filled weekend at Silver Lake Cabin. We already knew that Wynn loved the water from bath time and time in his baby pool, but we discovered that he loves the lake as well. He had so much fun kicking, splashing and swimming in the lake with Grandma and Grandpa! Wynn even likes to dunk his face in the water (we didn’t let him do this in the lake). The kid has no fear, so I can only imagine what swimming next summer will be like!

Wynn is officially a “cabin boy” as my dad would say. My grandparents, parents, aunt and uncle have been working hard at updating the cabin and making more room for us all to enjoy the cabin for years to come. Thank you so much for all of your hard work! We appreciate it more than you know!!

It was also the annual Rutabaga Fest in town, so we were able to partake in some of the games on the midway, the fair food and people watching in the beer garden. After all these years of attending the Rutabaga Fest, I still have never tasted a rutabaga. We did see some for sale at Louie's, the famous local meat shop, so maybe next year!

In other news, Wynn is quite the mover and shaker, but is not officially crawling yet. He still does his army crawl, rolls over like crazy, and is starting to pull himself up on things to a standing position. He is so proud of himself when he does this. We have started finding him up on all fours in his crib when he wakes up too. He seems to never sit still!

I have been having enjoying making baby food for Wynn. We’ve been trying to mostly have homemade food with a few of the organic food pouches here and there. They taste great too! We have recently learned that Wynn LOVES carrots, but does not so much enjoy green beans. He likes to grab the spoon and try to feed himself. This is fun for Wynn, but isn’t always so successful (as evident in the picture of the extra messy night we had recently)!
