This past weekend we took a long anticipated trip to Chicago to visit our friends Guy, Fallon and their daughter Giuliana. Fallon is a dear friend of mine and was my roommate and sorority sister in college. Their daughter Giuliana was born in April and I have been SO anxious to meet her!
We had such a relaxing weekend, which was just what we needed. We decided to stay out of the city and just spent our time out in the burbs. The guys got a round of golf in, while the girls did a little shopping and spent some time by the pool.
Wynn and Giuliana had a fun time hanging out with each other and it was entertaining to see them interact! Giuliana is so sweet, quiet and gentle. Wynn is the complete opposite. He is loud, loves to grab anything and everything, and bangs and shakes his toys! I am not sure if it is because he is a little older than Giuliana or just because he is a boy!!
Thankfully, both the babies have early bedtimes so we were also able to have some grown-up time in the evenings. We grilled out and enjoyed cocktails on the deck. What would have been a night out in the past turned into a game of scrabble instead, but we were just happy to get to spend time together! It is SO nice to spend time with other new parents who know exactly what you are going through!!
It made my heart happy to spend time with such good friends. I love to see my friends as parents and Giuliana is so lucky to have Fallon and Guy as hers. It is kind of surreal as sometimes it feels like just yesterday we were in college, but now here we are as parents toting little babies around. I so wish that we lived closer together, but we will just have to make it a priority to visit often!
