We started our celebrating this year on the day before
Christmas Eve by exchanging presents with our own family of three. The theme of
this year’s Christmas gifts for Wynn was definitely anything to do with trains and Toy Story, his latest obsessions!
Adam made his famous brie stuffed French toast and we enjoyed some egg nog,
which Wynn calls ‘Santa coffee’. I spent
the remainder of the day doing the rest of my Christmas baking!
We spent Christmas Eve with the Geasons and had fun with two
little boys in the family this year! We love that we could share Griffin's very first Christmas with him also. This year we decided to draw names and buy
pajamas with the siblings and made some great memories. We laughed SO much that night! We opened up the rest
of the gifts on Christmas morning after my mom’s Christmas morning breakfast! The highlight for Wynn was the train board that Papa Chris made him. He did an amazing job and it is something that Wynn plays with daily!
The following weekend we traveled to Iowa to celebrate with
the Weilands. Wynn really enjoyed all his play time with his uncles and aunts
and all of Grandpa Tony’s treats! He loved the fact that Uncle Josh and Aunt Hannah would play his favorite scene from Toy Story 3 (the opening train scene) on the iPad over and over again! It was all trains at the Weilands too, with more Thomas the Train gear for Wynn that I can name. We were able to hear Adam’s brother Josh
preach at church that Sunday, which made us really wish we could hear him every
Sunday. He did a wonderful job!
With Wynn being a year older and almost two on his second
Christmas, he really relished in all the festivities! It was fun to see his
eyes light up each time he was able to experience something new and watch the
excitement through his eyes. It brings back so many memories and
makes the Christmas season even that much more special when you have a little
one to share it with. We feel so grateful and blessed to have such an amazing
family to spend time with and create Christmas memories with each year!
