Not too much new has been going on in our house except preparing for the baby! We've got all the big things done like picking out a pediatrician, washing baby clothes, packing for the hospital, installing the car seat, etc. and have been slowly working on some smaller tasks. As we have been assembling baby stuff Leo and Lily have been busy trying everything out to make sure it is okay. (Don't worry, this has all been since washed and we will not let them crawl all over the baby stuff in the future. We just wanted our curious kitties to be able to sniff everything out beforehand!)
We also have been getting lots of surprise packages on our doorstep. Let's just say Adam has been very busy buying baby clothes! Adam also tried his hand at the swaddling method we learned in class. He practiced on Leo and although Leo is a very laid back cat, he seemed quite content and didn't try to wiggle out of it at all! We also practiced using the Moby wrap with Leo. It honestly put him to sleep and he loved being carried around in it. I can only hope the same is true with Wynn!
We have been trying to see some movies on the weekends too since it might be a little while until our next date night! We love seeing all the award nominated movies this time of year usually anyways. So far our favorites have been The Fighter, True Grit and The King's Speech. The Social Network was very good too, but not my fav for the Best Picture winner at the Oscars. I'm anxious to see which movie will win!
Another activity has been making and freezing some meals for after the baby arrives. These are some of our winter favorites:
Lasagna
Pot roast
Enchiladas (with ground turkey or pulled chicken and no green onions for freezing)
Chicken spaghetti (I use a shortcut of cooking 2 chicken breasts in the crock pot with some chicken broth while we're at work so it's ready to shred when we get home)
Stuffed peppers
Stuffed shells
Stromboli
Chili
Chicken tortilla soup
Muffins
Homemade granola
Now the waiting game is on!
