Thankful

The past three years we have hosted a Thanksgiving meal with just our parents and siblings at our house. We still do some of the big extended family stuff, but it is nice to have a smaller gathering for a few hours. Even though Wynn wasn't feeling his best, I think he enjoyed all the extra attention!

I remember thinking that the first time Adam and I prepared a Thanksgiving meal on our own that it was so stressful! We did lots of recipe searching, grocery shopping and had a very detailed timeline of what we would cook when.

In our third go around things were much more relaxed. We’ve found some recipes that are winners and know what to prep beforehand and how to time things so that it all is ready to eat at the same time. Adam takes charge of the turkey and takes pride in his great results! He gets up so early to get it in the oven and somehow is still is sharp enough to win the annual brother/brother-in-law game of Risk later than evening!

There are many thing we are thankful for, but below is our short list. We thank God every single day for how we have been blessed.

·         A healthy and happy baby boy
·         The love, friendship and teamwork that is our marriage
·         A warm, cozy roof over our head and food to nourish our family
·         The support of all our family, both near and far
·         Good friends, both near and far
·         Wynn’s honorary aunts Erin & Melissa - we don’t get to tell you enough, but we are so thankful for you too!
