This weekend we were on the road again. We thought we were going to have a quiet summer at home, but we have stayed pretty busy!
Adam’s little brother pitches for the Alta-Aurelia Warriors baseball team. They had a great season and worked hard to make it to the state tournament. This was going to be held at Principal Park in Des Moines and of course we had to make the trip to watch them play!
Adam’s parents, his brothers, as well some as aunts, uncles, and cousins were able to make it so we got lots of good family time in! Grandma Kim made Wynn the cutest baseball outfit, complete with a number 5 on the back. This was Adam’s number in high school and also is Christian’s number.
We have lots of friends that live in Des Moines , so we were able to meet up with them also. We got to see Stephanie and Brian, Erin, Rob and Beckham, Jason, Brent, Luke, Josh and many of Adam’s other high school friends. Wynn got to hear LOTS of Adam’s old baseball stories. I’m sure that he won’t ever get tired of hearing them over and over again as I sometimes do! :)
I think Christian had the largest fan section at the game and Wynn was definitely one of the littlest Warrior fans there! It was a very hot and muggy evening, but we did our best to stay cool. One of Wynn’s favorite things to do in the bathtub is play with a washcloth, so we gave him a nice cold one to help cool him down. He is not quite old enough to play with Beckham in the fountains yet! We tried using Melissa’s little fan, but he liked chewing on it instead.
Unfortunately the Warriors did not win the game, but it was still great to get to watch Christian play and enjoy some time with family and friends.
