Our Growing Boy

So much has changed in the past 4 months. Our little newborn baby has grown into a chunky little monkey with so much personality. I love that each week brings something new, a new skill, a new sound, a new thing that makes Wynn laugh. It has been an incredible journey so far!

Wynn’s 4 month doctors appointment confirmed how much we thought he had grown. He is now 15 lbs and 25 inches, which puts him in the 50-75th percentile. He was slow to gain weight in the beginning of his life, but now he is taking off! We noticed a huge change from months 2 to 3. There were a couple weeks where he almost gained a pound a week!

Here are some things Wynn loves at the moment:

·         Mom and Dad – he loves staring at us and gives us the biggest smiles. When we are across the room and talk he looks for us. He also likes to watch us eat and smiles when we put food in our mouths and say yum, yum, yum!

·         Singing songs – his favorite is The Wheels on the Bus and he LOVES when you beep, beep, beep his nose like it is a horn!

·         The jumper – his tip toes can reach the ground now and he jumps like CRAZY! He has so much energy when he is in there. Sometimes when we lift him out his little legs still go crazy!

·         Naked tummy time – for whatever reason he enjoys tummy time so much more in the nude without the restriction of his clothes or diaper. He really can prop himself up now and wiggles around so much. He is starting to learn how to dig his feet in the floor, so I think he might start inching his way forward in the near future. Rolling over also seems to be easier to accomplish in the buff!

·         Reading books – he really pays attention to the bright colored books and actually seems to look at the books now during bedtime.

·         Putting anything and everything in his mouth – he is so good at reaching and grabbing things now and the first thing he will do after getting a hold of something is put it in his mouth. I know this is a way he is exploring the world, so he constantly has his hands, our hands, a burp cloth, or a toy in his mouth. He mostly gnaws on things for now, but has never really taken to a pacifier so we will see if he begins to suck on his thumb!
