Meet Me in St. Louis

We tackled another first in the Weiland family by taking Wynn on his first plane trip. We had a wedding to go to in St. Louis and decided to go a few days early to spend some time with Lindsay and Matt! Wynn was such a great traveler and we were so proud of him. He slept most of the time on the plane and didn’t have any melt downs! We had lots of people on the plane comment on how good he did. We also had lots of people stop us in the airport to tell us how cute he is. We are constantly getting comments on how big and pretty Wynn's blue eyes are. It is funny how much more friendly people are and how many more strangers come up to you when you have a baby!

On Thursday we went to the awesome St. Louis Zoo, out to lunch at Lindsay & Matt’s favorite Greek/Italian place and to the Anheuser Busch tour. Wynn slept most of the time at the zoo, but had fun looking at the Clydesdale horses in the stable at the brewery! The weather was perfect, not too hot or humid just very pleasant.

On Friday the girls took Wynn on a long walk to do some shopping in the Central West End area and had lunch at a crepe restaurant. In the afternoon we drove about an hour to Washington, MO where the wedding was and got settled in at a B&B. We chose a B&B over the hotel so that we could have some more room to spread out. It was a beautiful place to stay right on the river. We took advantage of the pool they had and spent a lot of time relaxing on the patio.

On Saturday we spent some time exploring Washington. They had a cute downtown area and a farmers market. It is a very historic town with lots of old buildings. It definitely is a small town that moves at a slow pace! Lindsay and I decided to venture into an old antique shop, but as soon as we saw a snake slithering around in the basement we were outta there!

Lindsay and Matt were such a great help to us and babysat Wynn while we were at the rehearsal dinner and the wedding reception. I think they enjoyed their one on one time with Wynn too! This allowed us to have a really fun time celebrating Gregg and Jeni’s wedding with some really good friends.

It was hard to say goodbye to Aunt Lindsay (as it always is). As of now Wynn only has one aunt and she is a pretty special one! We wish we could live a little closer and see each other more, but we SO cherish the time we get to spend together. It won’t be too long until we get to see each other again in August!
