Take me out to the ball game . . .

(Thanks for the pictures Danielle!)

Due to the collapse of the Metrodome this winter the Twins let the Gopher baseball team use Target Field for their home games! We were able to take Wynn to his first baseball games, a double header versus Purdue on Saturday, April 2nd. It was a gorgeous sunny and warm spring day! It was so nice to be outside enjoying the nice weather. They had a huge crowd, much more than they were expecting, causing huge lines for the food!

It’s always so fun for me to watch my little brother play. He’s such a great baseball player, but more than that, he’s grown up into such an amazing and kind guy. I’m so proud of him! My good friend Fallon also has a cousin pitching for the Gophers this year, so it was fun to cheer him on as well.

Wynn got to meet a few more Great Aunts & Uncles and see cousin Bjorn & Danielle at the baseball game. I think my parents might have mentioned Wynn once or twice to the other Gopher parents, because they were all excited to meet him too! :)

The Gophers had a hard first game with no runs scored, so Wynn didn’t even bother to wake up. By the second game he was up and smiling. He wanted to see some action from the Gopher bats and they delivered by winning the game!

He did so great and even saved his MESSIEST DIAPER OF ALL TIME until we started driving home. It was so bad that we ended up cutting off his onsie, because it was just way too messy to even think about pulling it over his head!!

We also had his 2 month check up this week. He’s very healthy and doing great. The doctor was very impressed with how strong he is and how expressive he is (he was being a charmer with a smile or two). He weighed 10.5 lbs and was 22.5 inches long, putting him into the 25th percentile. He may look like he’s got some chub in his pictures, but he is still a pretty lean little guy. This appointment also meant some dreaded shots. They were way worse on Mom and Dad I think! Wynn only screamed bloody murder until Dad picked him up to comfort him. Later on he got a slight fever and we could tell his little leg muscles were achy. It’s so hard to see your baby in pain! However, it was nothing that some extra snuggles and a little baby Tylenol couldn't fix!
