Wynn’s 2nd Birthday

To celebrate Wynn’s birthday we took him on a "birthday date" on his actual birthday (similar to the one last year: Birthday Date). Maybe this will become a family tradition? This year we went to the Sea Life aquarium

Wynn loved seeing all the fish and thought the long tunnels with fish swimming overhead were pretty cool! I love the pictures we took that day, because Wynn couldn't peel his eyes away from the fish! He wasn’t quite sure what to think of the really big sharks and turtles and was a little concerned they might “get him” if we got too close to the glass. I don’t blame him, I wasn’t so sure of those 10 foot sharks coming within inches of me either!

Afterwards we went out to lunch and then headed home for some birthday treats and to watch the Super Bowl. Wynn couldn't wait to dig into his cupcake. While we were singing Happy Birthday to him, he kept asking us "Eat now?"  It was a fun day celebrating our big 2 year old!

The following weekend, we had a fun Thomas the Train themed 2nd birthday party with family for Wynn! He was so excited to see the decorations go up and loved seeing Thomas all over the house. He had a blast opening presents and eating his very own train cake! I had fun crafting it for him. Since we made his cake last year too, maybe that will become another family tradition? It certainly looks homemade, but it was so much fun for me and I don’t think Wynn minded! The cake eating was such a stark contrast from last year when he smeared the cake all over his face and hands. This year he wanted to eat the cake with a fork! So proper!

We had some yummy cupcakes from our favorite cupcake shop and for dinner had a pizza bar where guests could make their own pizza. This is one of Wynn’s favorite food related activities, so we knew he’d love sharing that experience with everyone!

As always , Wynn was so spoiled with some wonderful gifts and the extra special attention from his most favorite people all day long. I know he felt the love from afar too with birthday packages that arrived from Aunt Lindsay, Uncle Matt & Griffin, and Uncle Josh & Aunt Hannah! He’s such a lucky little guy to have such special people in his life!
