Birthday Date

On Wynn’s actual birthday Adam and I took the day off work so we could spend the whole day as a family. We started the day off by taking a trip to the Children’s Museum in St. Paul. Wynn had so much fun exploring the exhibits and it came as no surprise that his favorite one was the water station. Our little guy LOVES the bath and anything related to water, so he had so much fun splashing around at the water station. We even had to make 2 stops there during our visit!

After the museum we stopped for lunch and then headed to the Build a Bear Workshop. Our friends Nick and Shelly did this with their son Brady’s first birthday and we thought it was such a great idea! We let Wynn pick out his stuffed animal from the large display they had on the wall. He immediately pointed to the monkey and gave it a hug when we let him see it, so we knew that was the winner! We had fun stuffing him, cleaning him, dressing him and giving him a name. We’re looking forward to going back . . . maybe it will be a birthday tradition?

We ended the day with a relaxing dinner at home and a special birthday bubble bath! We usually don’t put soap in the water since Wynn ends up drinking so much of it, but we made some bubbles for the birthday boy. He was confused by them at first, but had a blast playing with them!

It was a special day for all of us and fun for us to be able to celebrate just as a family of three. Adam and I reminisced a lot about Wynn’s entrance to the world and his first few days of life. It seems like so much has happened in the last year, but it has gone by so incredibly fast!
